I always love to find an old fire tower to climb. That automatically puts this on top of a list for me. It was nice to see they kept it safe to climb. The compass that is set up next to the tower was a nice touch. The branches in the path of the view finder could use a trimming.
Love love love this place! Good for kids and adults to go visit. The inside is nice too learn and explore and there are some great trails to hike. Love seeing all the wildlife here!
Great parking, rest rooms, and one of the nicest parks to walk in Jeff. Other visitors are friendly and every trail has been well taken care of by MDC. In a great location in the vicinity of nearby fast food, grocery store, and a highway with easy access into Missouri Blvd and eventually US63.
Loved going with kids. There was a puppet show when we went. The lady that was running it was not the nicest but otherwise an overall great experience. Trails were nice and the inside had lots of things to do and see
Wonderful place to go on cold or warm days.. they have an indoor area with so much information and fun things to learn and do for the kids. If it's a nice day you can also enjoy a wonderful nature walk and find all the hidden clues in the hunt.
Today we went to the graduation class of 2023 for Missouri Conservation Agents. I was impressed and gained knowledge of the Dept. Fish, Forestry, and Wildlife. I was proud to be a family member of one of the graduates but I was very proud of all the graduates of the Class of 2023. Our Natural Resources are in good hands. I was impressed with how the leadership stressed Family, Work (not a four letter word) and Community. In that order.
This was the first time I have been to Runge Nature Center. I'm 72 not in the best of shape. It is a beautiful place. Easy accessible and a must see. The staff are wonderful bunch of folks. If you are ever in the Jefferson City area. It is a must see. Biggest mountain lion I have ever seen. My family loved it from 8 to 72. Great to be alive, especially in Missouri.

Great place to escape the city without actually leaving the city. Good spot to clear yourbhead for a few hours.
Amazing place to visit. My whole family loved exploring the inside and walking around the outside. The people inside were very kind and informative. We had a great visit! The animals are also amazing to see!
